Is there a minimum stay requirement?
During peak seasons (summer and holiday vacation weeks), a 7 day minimum stay is required. At others times of year the minimum stay varies between 2-5 days, depending on bookings and availability. We try and accommodate your needs, and may be able to book shorter stays. Contact us to discuss availability.
Can I rent the house long term?
We do allow for longer term (in excess of 3 weeks) rentals, if the house is not previously booked, and offer a discount on monthly rental prices. Peak season calendars fills up quickly, so requests should be made well in advance. Contact us to discuss availability and pricing.
what is the price per night?
The base price listed for the dates you select is for a maximum occupancy of 6 people. Groups of 7-12 will be charged an additional $20 per person per night for each guest in excess of 6. The house can easily accommodate 12, but we want to make it available (and realistically priced) for smaller groups as well.
Why can't I book directly online here?
We are listed on several other booking platforms and want to ensure the dates you desire are still available. Send in your reservation request with the number of people in your group. We will respond promptly, and send out a rental agreement and invoice. Once the agreement is completed and payment received, we block out that time exclusively for you.
Do I need to sign the rental agreement?
Yes, this is a legal contract that we require, where you acknowledge the house rental rules, policies, and attest to the number of guests. Your reservation is not locked in until we have received your signed agreement.
Are there other fees?
We charge a $175 cleaning fee, and collect a 9% Maine state occupancy tax. This tax is applied to cleaning fees, any additional services, occupancy charges, or add-ons that you select.
Can we bring our dog?
Sorry, no. And we don't make exceptions, even if you have the best behaved pup in the whole wide world. We love all pets, but Our Maine Getaway is a pet-free zone.
Is damage insurance required?
We do not charge a fee for damage insurance, but require that you agree that your CC info be kept on file to cover any replacement or repair costs for extraordinary wear, tear, and/or damage to the property.
What type of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, and use Square to process credit card transactions. You will receive an invoice via email from Square to securely enter your card and billing information. Square will send a receipt to you after payment is confirmed.
Is my card information secure?
It is. Square’s approach to security is designed to protect all information entered by you which is encrypted and submitted to their servers securely. Square meets Level 1 PCI Data Security Standards, and will never sell your information to third party vendors.
Why do I have to agree to keep my card information on file?
Your card info is kept on file for any future transactions or until a cancellation is requested. This information will be used to process any additional charges (such as extending your stay or adding additional guests, or services to the reservation) or refunds to your credit card. The card information is encrypted and stored safely with Square.
Can I pay in installments?
Sorry, no. Full payment is required at the time of booking.
What if I need to cancel my reservation?
If a guest wishes to cancel his/her reservation, they must cancel by 11:59pm EST on the cut-off day before check-in to receive a refund. The deposit will be refunded as follows: * 100% refunded if cancelled at least 14 days prior to the Check-in Date * 50% refunded if cancelled 7-14 days prior to the Check-in Date * 0% refunded if cancelled less than 7 days prior to the Check-in Date
Can I get a refund for bad weather?
It's New England, wait 15 minutes and the weather will change! No rental deductions for weather are permitted.
